Welcome
Hello there!
Welcome to the Judge Program Nexus for Star Wars™: Unlimited! This is going to be the home for the Judge Program, but as you may be able to tell this battle station website isn’t fully operational yet.
In time, this will host educational content including lessons on rules, policy, tournament logistics, and more, as well as articles and insights on the same. It will also be a place where Tournament Organizers can solicit applicants to work their events, and judges will be able to apply to events that appeal to them.
One of the first things we encourage you to do is join the official Judge Program Discord. You can find and chat with other members of the community, ask questions, test your knowledge, and even connect with tournament organizers.
Latest News
While we’ll make sure to update this page regularly with news and other updates, and we’ll send out emails for major launches and functions, the best way to keep up to date with the Star Wars: Unlimited Judge program is being a part of our Discord Channel (at least until we get a formal blog set up).
Profile Publicity
To be a fully verified member of the Judge Program, ensure that your profile settings are appropriately set. If your profile is private you will not be eligible for Judge Promos and you are unlikely to be staffed for events. Ensuring that Tournament Organizers can discover and contact you is key to finding success as a Judge.
Program Statistics
As of March 11th, 2025:
- Nearly 4500 users on Nexus
- Over 3200 members on the Judge Community Discord
- Over 300 certified L1 Judges
- Over 1700 certified Judge Apprentices
- Certified Judges on every continent (except Antarctica)
- Over 3700 Verified Tournament Organizers
Endorsements and Reviews
Verified Tournament Organizers can now write endorsements for level one judge candidates! Store owners and employees of stores that are hosting Planetary Qualifiers can find their location in our organizer search, link their account to Nexus, and then begin to issue endorsements to judges by finding their profile in the judge search.
One of our highest priorities is expanding our database of verified Tournament Organizers to include all stores that have run prereleases for the game.
Integrated Testing
The L1 exam is now available to endorsed candidates and the apprentice exam is now built into Nexus, rather than being on an external platform. You can find the tests and check restrictions on testing on the exams page.
Tests now have a cooldown implemented, which is a period of time for you to study and prepare for your next exam attempt. These cooldowns are conservative and may be reduced in the future.
Testing being integrated into Nexus also means that your level will automatically update as soon as you complete the exam and you can link your Discord account to Nexus and have your role update on the Judge Community Discord.
Resources
Cascade seeks to provide as many resources as possible while maintaining a consistent quality standard. While we’re still working on improving the aesthetics of many of our tools, we want to make sure that you have what you need to be an effective judge or just to understand the game better as a player or tournament organizer!
Our Resources page has a wide variety of documents and other resources. We have up-to-date links to official documents including the Comprehensive Rules, Master Event Document, and Tournament Regulations.
There are also clarifications for both rules and policy - while these documents aren’t published directly by FFG, they are official clarifications that have been developed in concert with the designers and developers of Star Wars: Unlimited.
Education
One of our ongoing priorities is developing educational content so that you better understand the core rules of the game.
We have lessons for both the Judge Apprentice and Level One certifications. The core lessons for both of those certifications are complete, so you can jump right in and start learning!
Lessons are also available on our YouTube Channel, along with recordings of live broadcasts. The live broadcasts cover the same material as the lesson, but go a bit more in-depth, and answer viewer questions.
When we have broadcasts, they take place at 5 PM EST on Tuesdays on our Twitch Channel.
Certifications
Once you’ve become comfortable with the rules, you can dive right into testing for your Judge Apprentice certification. We’re also working on making the L1 certification available to the public as soon as we can. Right now, certifications are not required for any events, but we strongly encourage tournament organizers to select staff who have a certification.
Part of our longer-term plan is having a five-level system of certification as well as specific requirements for advancement to each of those levels.
For a longer-term look at what the Judge Program is planning for Star Wars: Unlimited, check out the Judge Program Road Map.
Judge Shirts
Judge Shirts are currently sold out! One of our highest priorities is finding approved manufacturing business partners in other regions so that we can provide these shirts to our global members, without having to charge excessive fees.
Judge Promos
The first of the Judge Promos from Cascade Games in partnership with FFG have been revealed! They will be available as gifts with purchase of various merch bundles and will also be available at Judge Meet-Ups. In order to be eligible to buy the bundles or otherwise be gifted the merch, you must be a certified judge with your name and location set to public.
